STEPHEN HAUTER NAMED AS NEW BOYS DIRECTOR OF COACHING (U14-U18) AND GREG BERNING NAMED AS DIRECTOR OF GOALKEEPING FOR CLASSICS HAMMER FC

The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to name Stephen Hauter as the new Boys Director of Coaching (U14-U18) succeeding Greg Berning who we are pleased to announce as are Director of Goalkeeping.

“Stephen Hauter is an individual of incredible character; He has a tireless work rate, is extremely detail oriented & very well organized. His addition to the Classics Hammer staff can only be seen as a positive and a tremendous achievement for the club to add someone of Stephen's pedigree.

More significantly Stephen becoming a member of the staff allows Greg Berning the opportunity to focus and spend much more time with the Goalkeepers, an area in which he excels” states Brian Bronowski (Classics Hammer FC Technical Director).

Coach Hauter currently holds a U.S.S.F. “A” License, a “National Youth” License and is on the Regional Staff for ODP.

Stephen has significant Olympic Development (ODP) experience both in Illinois as a State Staff Coach and Boys Director of ODP and in Ohio where he has been named as the Director of Cincinnati District ODP and has coached state teams in Ohio for the last 3 years. Finally, Stephen has coached eight players who have gone on to play professional soccer.

Additionally, Stephen will serve as the Club’s Operations Manager and Men’s College Coach Coordinator. Please give Stephen a warm Classics Hammer welcome when you seen him around the training complex.

Coach Berning is obviously no stranger to Classics Hammer FC. Coach Berning came to Classics Hammer FC in January 2006 after spending 12 years with Cardinal Soccer Club, where he served as an Assistant Director of Coaching and Director of Goalkeeping. Greg came to Classics Hammer FC as the Asst Technical Director and Goalkeeper Academy Director. In September of 2007, Greg took over the role of Boys Director of Coaching. Although Coach Berning performed well in his role as Boys Director of Coaching, Greg’s heart and passions still remained between the posts.

We are pleased to announce Greg Berning as Classics Hammer FC Director of Goalkeeping. Goalkeeping is a critical skill area and Greg has a proven track record in developing successful keepers as evidenced by the fact that his keepers have received five National Goalkeeper MVP awards. Greg also holds a USSF “B” License as well as a “National Youth” License.

Additionally, Greg will continue to coach within the Boys program as well as remain as the Director of our Youth Tournaments. Please congratulate Greg on his new role with the Club.
